Twin Cities PBS Showcases Minnesota's Vibrant Music Community in Season 3 of STAGE, Premiering October 13

October 6, 2023 (St. Paul, MN) – Twin Cities PBS (TPT) is thrilled to announce the premiere of the new season of STAGE. See your favorite local musicians like you’ve never seen them before. This six-episode season presents intimate collaborations between iconic artists and the musicians they want you to know about. Featuring unforgettable performances and exclusive insights into the artists’ lives and music – recorded live at First Avenue’s legendary 7th St Entry. STAGE premieres new episodes on Fridays from October 13 through November 17 at 8:00pm on TPT 2. 

This season pays homage to the eclectic range of genres that thrive within the state. From rock and folk to hip-hop and punk. With every episode, viewers are granted behind-the-scenes access and a front-row seat to breathtaking performances, personal insights from the musicians, and never-before-seen collaborations. STAGE is produced by Kate McDonald and David Roth, with Amy Melin serving as supervising producer and Marissa Blahnik as the executive producer. 

Highlighting the deep connection between local musicians and their audiences, STAGE features appearances by some of Minnesota’s favorite artists. These musicians not only showcase their own talents but also introduce artists they want you to hear. Episodes include:  

  • Dessa featuring 29:11 
  • Night Moves featuring Shady Cove  
  • The Cactus Blossoms featuring Jack Klatt 
  • Chastity Brown featuring Humbird 
  • Tall Paul featuring Joe Rainey 
  • Soul Asylum featuring Loki’s Folly 

“By capturing the spirit of First Avenue’s 7th St Entry, we are excited to offer viewers an exclusive glimpse into the heart of Minnesota’s music scene,” explains McDonald. “We are thrilled to present this season of STAGE, a celebration of Minnesota’s rich musical tradition and the exceptional artists who call this state home.”  

In addition to the broadcast series, a companion YouTube series, BackSTAGE, will be released on TPT’s YouTube channel Tuesdays from October 17 through November 21. BackSTAGE is your guide to discovering new music – recommended by the artists you already love. The YouTube series features new content including behind the scenes interviews and never-before-seen collaborations. STAGE and BackSTAGE will also be available for streaming at tpt.org and on the PBS App
