Playwright Jeffrey Hatcher wants audiences to leave his plays feeling that they didn’t waste their time.
Write about a good production you have seen on the stage, at the movies or on television. What criteria do you use to judge whether you’ve spent your time wisely by watching it? Is it the characters? A cohesive plot? Special effects?
Jeffrey put on a version of Shakespeare’s Hamlet when he was only in the fifth grade. He then went on to write an original play about the experience.
Write your own outline for a play you’d like to see on stage. Include the following information: the title, a 2-4 sentence plot description, the characters and their motivations, and1-3 themes the play will explore.
