Pretty Much Left With Nothing: A MN Remembers Vietnam Submission

March 5, 2018

Louie Hai Tran was a young child when he and his family fled his house in the middle of the night. With his father in the South Vietnamese Navy, he was lucky to be able to find temporary refuge at the naval base. When he was 9, he and his family made it to the Twin Cities with nothing but paperwork and some old pictures.

I’m glad I was kind of protected from it… in my mind, I kind of block a lot of it out.

Louie is one of several speakers presenting at our Vietnam 360 library series, put on in partnership with Metropolitan Library Service Agency (MELSA). The series runs through May 6. Visit MNVietnam.org/360 for information.
