SAINT PAUL, Minn., July 20, 2016 – TPT is pleased to announce that “The Lowertown Line” is back to tape all-new live-audience shows with an exceptional lineup of local musicians for Season Four of the critically acclaimed series.
“We’re really excited about Season Four of ‘The Lowertown Line,’” said series producer, David Roth. “The artists this season represent some of the best in Minnesota in regards to diversity of styles and influence. We have everything from Americana roots rock (Dead Man Winter) to hip-hop (P.O.S) to Punk (Babes in Toyland) to Afro Billy (Siama Matuzungidi), and we’ve added a family-friendly show with popular folk act The Roe Family Singers.”
The 2016 lineup of “The Lowertown Line” episodes will feature eight local bands:
- August 11: Communist Daughter
- September 8: Dead Man Winter
- October 20: Babes in Toyland with Bruise Violet
- November 10: P.O.S.
- January 12: Siama Matuzungidi
- February 9: The Roe Family Singers
- March: TBA
“The Lowertown Line” is an Emmy®-award winning local music TV show recorded in front of a live audience at the TPT Street Space in Lowertown St. Paul. After a significant remodel in 2015, TPT opened their street level space as a gathering and event space in the community that is fast becoming a notable Lowertown venue hosting “The Lowertown Line” and much more.
In addition to a new line-up of live shows, “The Lowertown Line” Season Three (featuring artists like Polica, The Cactus Blossoms, Sonny Knight and the Lakers and more) will broadcast on TPT in September. And, the show will continue to release full episodes of Season Four online and via social media prior to their television broadcast.

About “The Lowertown Line”
“The Lowertown Line” is a music television series from Twin Cities PBS (TPT) that celebrates the Twin Cities music scene in all its glory and variety. “The Lowertown Line” features local musical acts performing concert-style for a studio audience, as well as interviews and “day in the life” scenes with the featured artists. Audiences can experience “The Lowertown Line” through the monthly live tapings around town and at TPT, online videos, or through the 30-minute broadcasts. The series is funded by the State Arts and Cultural Heritage Fund of the Legacy Amendment.
