About The New Abnormal: Global Uncertainty

Globalist Ian Bremmer looks at how changing politics, economics and geography are creating global uncertainty not seen since the end of WWII. It’s not the new normal, Bremmer says, it’s the new abnormal. No longer is the world ordered by a G-7 or even G-20. The world order is a G-Zero, with numerous countries of wide disparities in wealth, economic systems and priorities, which the U.S. has diminishing wherewithal–or even interest–to influence. China’s rise is seminal but there are many other countries that cannot be ignored. Businesses must find their success somewhere on the continuum of “The World is Flat” ubiquity of a Coca-Cola and the “Too Big to Fail” laser focus of a Lockheed. Produced with the Hendrickson Institute for Ethical Leadership at Saint Mary’s University of Minnesota.
