With more data available today than in all of history, David Bowen takes advantage of it and uses technology to turn raw data into art. For example, he uses data points from Lake Superior to create an indoor, artificial lake, seen below, with all of the same surface movements.

Collect your own data on a natural phenomenon and then present it in a new and compelling way. For example, you can make a 3-D map/diorama that shows how many of each type of tree is on your block.
