Rain on Mars documents the creation of a sculpture of the same name by thirteen Northfield high school students and their artist mentors. The film follows the students over the ten months it took them to conceive, refine and complete the steel structure. Although there were many twists and turns in the process, the students rose to meet every challenge and change in direction. The film provides a behind the scenes view of young artists showing remarkable maturity and generosity to the process and each other.
