It is time. Fall television premiere time and I. Am. Ready.
What’s up first? “Indian Summers” season two and it’s comin’ in hot! Like, literally hot, steamy, scorching (insert more hot synonyms here). Season two is taking it up a several degrees—described by the creator as more of a “thriller” as well as a “year of reckoning” for the four main cast members (Afrin, Ralph, Alice and Cynthia). Ohhhh boy (rubs hands together in anticipation). BUT WHAT DOES THAT MEAN?
I watched the first episode of season two of “Indian Summers” and it’s, well, dramatic. But before I get ahead of myself, I’ve heard from some of you that “Indian Summers” was hard to follow—too many characters, lots to keep track of and that it’s complicated. Well, if you ask me, that’s the beauty of it! There’s plenty of simple television out there so if you gave up last season, let yourself get wrapped up in this twisty turvy plot. If you need further convincing, here are a few of our favorite things from season one.
Oh, and let’s get real, you haven’t exactly found a replacement to fill that Downton Abbey void. Amiright? This could be it. Romance, intrigue, evil, DRAMA. All of those things. Season one’s episodes are available for streaming with Passport so your next binge-watching adventure is set. (You’re welcome.)
If you’ve kept up (Splendid!), there is a thrilling premiere episode awaiting you. Here’s a little of what lies ahead:

Three years later—it’s 1935—and there is an assassination attempt on the viceroy. Could this speed up Ralph’s journey to the top?
Afrin is a double (triple?) agent, fighting for India’s independence from the inside. Does Ralph suspect his disloyalty? Afrin is between two worlds but what does he really want?

Speaking of Afrin’s wants: Alice now has a man in her life, but who is he really?

Let’s not forget Cynthia (I mean, how could we?). She is evil—but you already knew that. Oh, and she wears a headpiece that is a little top heavy in this first episode. Once you see it, let’s discuss.
For a more detailed reminder of how season one concluded, Masterpiece has a solid refresher awaiting you.
Enjoy the drama and intrigue of “Indian Summers” Sunday nights starting September 11th on PBS or the PBS app post-broadcast.
