Dr. Jack Kevorkian, the famed advocate of physician-assisted suicide who died Friday, spoke with the NewsHour's Robert MacNeil on June 6, 1990 after his first highly publicized encounter with Janet Adkins of Portland, Oregon. Kevorkian describes the details of the procedure he used that ultimately led to Adkins' death and his motivation for performing it.
