About Mysteries of the Coral Canyon

MYSTERIES OF THE CORAL CANYON investigates how sharks and coral reefs are intricately linked. Featuring a team of scientists and research divers as they explore the atolls of French Polynesia, this 60-minute documentary exposes the mysteries of the coral reef and the creatures and predators that live there. The scientists venture into ferocious ocean currents to capture never-before-seen footage of sharks hunting at night, as well as clips featuring new shark hunting behavior. The film also includes a rare natural spectacle involving thousands of large fish trying to lay their eggs while simultaneously surviving a shark onslaught. Additionally, it uncovers how two of the most threatened groups of animals in the ocean depend on one another, and must be protected together if either of them is to survive in the future. Following the documentary is a short piece titled: CORAL: WHAT IS IT?, which explores how these tiny organisms work, how they need plants to survive, and how they can build enormous reefs that are home to millions of fish around the planet.
