Wil Natzel uses his formal training in architecture to create installations that challenge the expected use of a space. Natzel’s preferred material is corrugated cardboard for its flexibility, impermanence and cost efficiency. Though the art itself is ephemeral, the relatively low cost allows for greater experimentation and exploration. Here, we see his 2013 SooVAC installation, Convolution, come to life from flat, cardboard components to a meandering, 3-dimensional tube.
