Educator, poet, playwright and filmmaker Said Salah Ahmed fled Somalia during the Somalian Civil War and immigrated to the Twin Cities in the early 1990s. Since then he wrote The Lion’s Share, a children’s book that later became the inspiration for a play he wrote and produced for SteppingStone Theatre based on Somalian folklore.
