As a sign painter that does all of his work by hand, Phil Vandervaart has made his mark on the Twin Cities’ urban landscape over the last 30 years. Vandervaart’s iconic and memorable work marks locales such as Palmer’s Bar, Keys Cafe, The Hard Times Cafe and The Fitzgerald Theater, and can even be spotted in some feature films.
