The grandson of an auctioneer, it is in sculptor Michael Thomsen’s blood to be fascinated with antiques and discarded objects. His assemblage sculptures are comprised of vintage furniture, secret compartments and nostalgic trinkets. Thomsen strives to create work that leaves the viewer feeling like they are walking through someone else's attic.
