Mosaic artist Michael Sweere transforms discarded tins, tiles and plates into works of art
A former art director, Michael Sweere created his first mosaics out of discarded product packaging from his various advertising accounts. After learning the basics of the medium, he started incorporating more traditional mosaic materials like tile and tin. Sweere scours thrift stores and rummage sales to find materials for his work, which includes imagery of nature, animals and landscapes.
