Visual artist Michael Kareken's wall-size paintings explore abstract expressionism
Mountain high piles of recycled boxes, mounds of bottles, and heaps of discarded plastic are just as beautiful as the Grand Canyon to visual artist Michael Kareken. His wall-size industrial paintings, recently featured in the Minnesota Artists and Exhibition Program at the Minneapolis Institute of Arts, speak to his love of abstract expressionism and fondness for investigating what we throw away. Michael is a 2010 Bush fellow with other awards, commendations and exhibitions to his name. More Info: Michael Kareken
