Faye Passow gives her drawings rich texture and complex gradation with stone lithography.
Faye Passow uses the centuries-old art of stone lithography to give her eclectic drawings rich texture and complex shading. Stone lithography is a complicated and physical process that involves multiple painstaking steps, but Passow prefers the method for the incredible gradation it provides. Though the production technique is old-fashioned, her subject manner is not--from whimsical trailer homes to mystical landscapes, Passow’s work is far from traditional! Her work has been shown nationally, and locally at the Walker Art Center and the Minneapolis Institute of Arts.
