Dean Lucker and Ann Wood are a husband and wife art duo who have been creating mechanical sculptures since 1987. Their work creates a magical world that is delicate, playful, and bittersweet. Both Lucker and Wood grew up in the Midwest and were influenced by its picturesque landscapes and the people around them whose livelihoods were dependent on making, doing, and inventing. The couple met while students at the Minneapolis College of Art and Design and have been collaborating ever since. Their work has garnered numerous awards, including two "Best in Show" awards from the Philadelphia Museum Show and the St. Louis Art Fair, two Visual Arts Fellowships from the Minnesota State Arts Board, and a Bush Artist Fellowship.
