Chris Mars, former drummer for band The Replacements, creates visual artwork.
Chris Mars, former drummer for iconic Minneapolis rock band The Replacements, eventually left the music scene to pursue visual arts. A painter and filmmaker, Mars’ work is influenced by his acute familiarity with social stigmas he’s observed through his relationship with his schizophrenic older brother. Mars wants the disharmony and uneasiness present in his work to draw people in and further a dialogue about traditionally uncomfortable themes.
