Chholing Tahas paintings and shawls use Native American imagery to tell a universal story.
Set in lush, highly detailed natural settings, Chholing Taha’s vivid paintings integrate constellations into the night sky and native shapes from several traditions to tell a universal story about humanity. A certified Cree First Nations artisan, Taha’s work is inspired by her dreams as well as her desire to create a sense of mystery in life for the viewer. Her distinct approach is also evident in her handcrafted shawls, popular with Native Fancy Dancers for Pow Wows as well as healers outside the Native American tradition. Taha’s work is on display in public and private collections throughout the U.S., Canada, Germany, Great Britain, Italy and Japan.
