Maigret contends with the dual murder of a nightclub dancer and a Countess.

A nightclub dancer, who reports overhearing a conversation about a murder that has yet to happen, is found strangled to death. The next day, the victim, a Countess, is found strangled. Maigret is brought in to find the link between the victims and to bring the killer to justice.
