Little Crow and the Dakota War

In 1862, after ten years of unfulfilled treaty promises and corruption, Dakota chief Little Crow led a war against the United States which cost some 800 white lives, and resulted in 38 Dakota warriors being hanged in the largest mass execution in United States history.
