Leo Jackson received two life sentences for heroin trafficking due to mandatory minimums.
Leo Jackson, a former prisoner at Angola State Prison, is now a minister in New Orleans, Louisiana. Because of the minimum mandatory sentencing laws in Louisiana, Leo received two life sentences for heroin trafficking. After serving 32 years, he was pardoned in large part because of the spiritual work and community building he conducted while in prison.
