Born for the Stage

Five years ago, a PRI client stated that her dream was to appear on stage and she wanted to be an actress. As it turned out, several clients wanted to act on stage. She and the others got their wish. But never in people’s wildest dreams did anyone foresee what was in store for the actors who were clearly “Born for the Stage.” Follow a dedicated group of actors with disabilities as they work to bring their production and their dream to life. “This film left me speechless and that is hard to do,” said Marc Shaiman, Tony Award winning composer and lyricist for the Broadway musical, Hairspray. According to John Water’s, the producer and director of the original film, Hairspray, “I’ve seen Hairspray done hundreds of times, but no group has captured its meaning like you have.”
