'Chased By The Light' Documentary, Exhibit At Bell Museum
Tonight on tpt 2 follow the artistic eyes of one of Minnesota’s most famous photographers as he spends time in this state revealing beauty with just one photograph a day.
Chased By The Light: A Photographic Journey With Jim Brandenburg tells the story of how one of the world's greatest nature photographers immersed himself in a zen-like exploration of his craft and the untamed landscape of Minnesota’s rugged north woods.
Undertaken at the pinnacle of Brandenburg's career, it was a project motivated by his desperate need to renew his creativity and reconnect with natural settings that were the primary sources of his inspiration.
For 90 days, Brandenburg took only a single picture each day -- one click of the shutter. The stunning images generated unprecedented reader interest as a national geographic magazine cover story and as the best-selling book of his career.
This 60-minute documentary will provide an established audience with the behind-the- scenes story of how the Chased By The Light project evolved, from initial inspiration to its unexpected finish.
Jim Brandenburg's work is currently on display at the University of Minnesota's Bell Museum of Natural History. The exhibit contains all 90 of Brandenburg's images taken during his photo journey, as well as view a collection of images of the same locations, revisited years later.
