Can Happiness Can Fuel Success? Watch The Happiness Advantage
Most people believe that once they land that long-awaited promotion, make more money, get their kids into the right schools, lose a few pounds, or find a meaningful relationship, then they’ll be happy.
But, as positive psychology expert Shawn Achor shows viewers in an upcoming PBS special The Happiness Advantage, airing Monday at 8 p.m. on tpt 2, that formula for happiness is wrong. In fact, it’s backwards. It turns out, happiness actually fuels success, not the other way around.
This is what Achor calls The Happiness Advantage. When we become more positive, our brain becomes more engaged, creative, motivated, energetic, resilient and productive. The result is an advantage over the entirety of our life - improving success at work, creating better health, better relationships with our loved ones, and creating a happier home.
Achor is a terrific, inspirational presenter, who has lectured in 45 countries around the world. Audiences love him - best summed up by a Boston Globe reporter who attended one of his lectures: “Shawn Achor is funny, self-deprecating and devastating to my notions of what his field is all about – I’m butter to his knife.”
Taped right here in the tpt studios, the audience reaction during and after the Achor’s special was extremely enthusiastic. You can see The Happiness Advantage With Shawn Achor this Monday at 8 p.m. on tpt 2.
