The Mind of a Chef: ever heard of it?

If not, you should probably check it out! Already in its second season, this new series, produced by celebrity chef and food critic Anthony Bourdain, dares to make connections between food and nature, science, music, art, sports, history, and pretty much anything else a renowned chef can stir up. It is an experience that unlocks the potential of food, travel and the mind.

In the second season, The Mind of a Chef takes on a Southern twist and climbs into the heads of two chefs – Sean Brock and April Bloomfield. We’ll jump headfirst into the world of Southern cuisine, so be prepared for everything from fried chicken and pig parts to an awesome “hangover hanky.” Tune in every Saturday at 9:30am for new episodes of The Mind of a Chef, only on tpt 2.

Here’s a “taste” of what you can expect in the second season of The Mind of a Chef.

Farm Fresh Road Trip

Here at tpt, we’re excited to announce Host Mary Lahammer’s newest production, Farm Fresh Road Trip. Mary Lahammer and her crew have been on the road in search of some of Minnesota’s most delicious dishes. In partnership with the Minnesota Farmers Union, Farm Fresh Road Trip will look at the local food movement through a new lens that just might surprise you. In this half hour program, viewers will experience a complete ‘meal’, from a starter dish in Minneapolis to a delectable dessert in St. Peter. Join us for the program premiere on Sunday, October 6th at 7:00 PM on tpt‘s Minnesota Channel!

In case you missed it, watch Farm Fresh Road Trip below.

A message from Mary:

“The excitement and buzz over this production 'Farm Fresh Road Trip' has been incredibly encouraging. Garnering half a dozen news reports just while out shooting with our great tpt crew around the state proves the huge interest in putting the local food movement on statewide TV! We can’t wait to see how it comes together in edit as we prepare for our first airdate Oct. 6 on the Minnesota Channel.

I’ve been working with Minnesota Cooks at the State Fair and the Farmers Union for a decade on the locavore concept. It’s been interesting to see this show come together as an emphasis on healthy local food consumption goes mainstream for consumers and really takes off in restaurants in every part of the state. This project has remarkable momentum and we hope there are more good things to come.”

Mary Lahammer
