Eat Smart for a Great Start!

To start the school year off right, we’ve gathered resources that encourage healthy eating, including expert tips, videos and activities.

Healthy Eating Activities

Cooking and Learning: Cooking together can be a delicious learning experience for children and their parents. Kids can explore new foods, learn about nutrition, and develop math and reading skills as they measure and read directions.

Play with Your Food: Make artistic snacks with your kids to encourage healthy eating! Even the pickiest eaters are often more willing to try new foods when they are disguised as animals, cars, boats, and butterflies.

Grocery Bag Bingo: Headed to the store? Bring this bingo game and have your kids find the healthy foods.

Make Planning Fun: Download this weekly calendar that lets you plan out your weekly family meals, while helping your kids learn about healthy eating.

Your Healthy Plate: Its never too early to teach kids about food groups and meal time.  Let them draw their favorites on this downloadable plate.

Watch Online

Math Market - Combine healthy food, budget keeping, life skills and everyday math during a trip to the farmers market. It’s a real-life adventure in learning.

Hectic Harvest: Nothing beats a real plot of soil, but with this game you can begin to teach your kids about planning, growing, and harvesting a garden.
