Thank you for your ongoing support of tpt, public broadcasting and for agreeing to be part this grassroots effort a year and a half ago.
THANK YOU
With your help last summer, public broadcasting prevailed in one of the severest fights for continued Federal funding. In eight weeks, we went from total elimination of Federal funding (as passed by the U.S. House on February 19th), to the preservation of 93% of requested appropriations, including a slight increase to the CPB funding in 2013. This result would not have been possible without thousands of calls to Congress from supporters like you.
Despite the success last year, we expect to face similar challenges this year.
FAREWELL tpt ADVOCATES, JOIN 170 MILLION
In an effort to unify our efforts and have one voice against the threats to de-fund public broadcasting, tpt would like to fold our tpt Community Advocates membership into the 170 Million Americans for Public Broadcasting, the national effort to support funding for public broadcasting. In doing so, we will phase out the tpt Community Advocates group.
As a member of 170 Million, you will get more regular funding and legislative updates and occasionally, we may ask for your help. In addition, I will still be able to communicate with you through email to provide you with local updates affecting Minnesota or tpt.
