November 16, 2020

Twin Cities PBS was awarded 4 Midwest Emmys

The Upper Midwest Emmy® Awards recognizes the exceptional work TPT has done in telling the stories of Minnesota through video and television to inform and engage others. TPT is honored to be recognized for their community-enriching programs focused on health, education, military and culture.

This year’s Midwest Emmy awards were held virtually on November 14th and TPT took home awards for Always Remember, a Memorial Day tribute to our MN veterans who have passed; This Free North, a reflection of the people and events that led to the formation of the African American Studies program at the University of Minnesota; The Opioid Fix Pt. 1, a series that explores education, prevention and solutions surrounding the opioid crisis; and, First Avenue: Closer To The Stars a behind the scenes story about the history of the legendary Minneapolis nightclub.

This work is made possible thanks to the support of our partners, members and viewers. — Learn more about the 2020 winners and watch the winning films below.
