Konstantinos Papadakis - Woodcarver

Writing/Essay/Journal
Konstantinos Papadakis is passing on the skill, traditions and knowledge that he received from his grandfather. His student, Paul Sirba, appreciates the hands-on lessons and constant critique.  Write about a teacher you have had who encouraged you with “old world” methods that involved constant correction and praise only when it was truly earned. Was this teacher considered strict? Was he or she well-liked? Why do you suppose Paul likes Konstantinos as a teacher?

Activity
Now think of something you do well and teach someone else how to do it. Can you draw, dance, solve math problems, write poems, play video games, understand science, build or make objects, or play a sport well? Find a willing learner and take the time to convey what you know using Papadakis’ techniques of leading by example.
