Writing/Essay/Journal
“Wit” is defined as intelligent humor, the ability to say clever things. The radio variety show Wits uses comedy sketches, music, audience interaction and clever repartee to showcase wit.

Write about the difference between being witty and being funny. Do you think there is a difference at all?

Activity
One Wits skit is an anti-commercial for frozen yogurt – “It tastes like ice cream, but more sad.”

Divide into “production crews” of 4-6 people and produce your own anti-commercial. Your “crew” could include a director, actors, a camera operator, a writer—you can create your own titles but make sure everyone has a job! If you have cameras available, record your commercial. Otherwise, you can perform them in front of the class.
