Artist Bio: Highpoint Center for Printmaking originally opened its doors in 2001 in a small studio space on Lyndale Avenue. Nine years later, they are still here and in a more elegant location on West Lake Street. They offer an education program, a print co-op that enables artists access to the facilities, an emerging artist program in partnership with the Jerome Foundation, and a visiting artist program that is international in its scope. They aim to be a unique institution in the upper Midwest. Artists who have made work at Highpoint have been collected everywhere from the Walker Art Center to the Whitney Museum of American Art and the Museum of Modern Art in New York. Carla McGrath and Cole Rogers are the founders and artistic directors.
