Make friends, share stories, and join the conversation. Indie Lens Pop-Up is a neighborhood series that brings people together for film screenings and community-driven conversations.

Featuring documentaries seen on the PBS series Independent Lens, Indie Lens Pop-Up draws local residents, leaders, and organizations together to discuss what matters most, from newsworthy topics to family and relationships.

On April 16 we are screening Charm City.

Filmed during three years of unparalleled violence in Baltimore, Charm City delivers a powerfully candid portrait of those on the frontlines. With grit, fury, and compassion, a group of police, citizens, community leaders, and government officials grapple with the consequences of violence and try to reclaim their city’s future.

The family will explore the relationships they have built in St. Paul neighborhoods that have nurtured the family across generations. And, through public service—policing, county and city government work, union organizing, and education—they have nurtured the city of St. Paul.
