About this event

For Ali and the millions he inspired, the boxing ring symbolizes escape, safety and self-determination. Join a live discussion of Ali’s life and legacy with local sports and community leaders, inspired by Muhammad Ali by Ken Burns, Sarah Burns and David McMahon.

To honor what would have been Muhammad Ali’s 80th birthday, TPT will host an interactive dialogue related to Muhammad Ali with Circle of Discipline in South Minneapolis, a boxing and wellness training facility following his birthday.

The event will bring together leaders of color across the Twin Cities working at the intersections of sports, youth mentorship, and activism.

Sports journalist Lea B. Olsen will moderate a dialogue with boxers Ceresso Fort and Karlence Dominique Rozambert from SIR Boxing Club, and Jamal “SHANGO” James representing Circle of Discipline.

Funding partners for this event are WETA and Racism Unveiled.

Community Partners include Men of M.A.R.C.H., which stands for Men Are Responsible to Cultivate Hope, Circle of Discipline and African American Leadership Council.
