Suicide is an urgent healthcare crisis touching far too many Minnesota families each year. TPT’s FACING SUICIDE project aims to elevate and destigmatize the topic of suicide; offer an important message of hope and healing; and empower communities to help those who may be at risk.

This FACING SUICIDE event features the Question, Persuade, Respond (QPR) class taught by NAMI Minnesota Suicide Prevention Educator, David Goehl-Manolis; a screening of excerpts from TPT’s new documentary, FACING SUICIDE; and a Q & A with David and Nancy Howe, Director of Children’s Programs.

Attendees will be empowered to:

  • recognize specific signs of suicidal behaviors in themselves, friends and family members,
  • feel equipped and empowered to broach the topic of suicide safely,
  • and connect immediately to appropriate care

Light Dinner and refreshments served.
FREE event.
This event is limited to 35 people.
Due to the subject matter, this event is not appropriate for children under the age of 16.

About QUESTION, PERSUADE, REFER (QPR) presented by NAMI Minnesota
Learn the three steps anyone can take to help prevent suicide. Just like CPR, QPR is an emergency response to someone in crisis and can save lives. QPR is the most widely taught gatekeeper training program in the United States, and more than one million adults have been trained in classroom settings in 48 states. This 1.5 hour class is for members of the community over the age of 16 who want to learn best practices in suicide prevention.

About FACING SUICIDE, a new documentary from Twin Cities PBS
