A NOTE ABOUT “CHANNEL RE-SCAN”

On February 18, Twin Cities Public Television made technical changes to its digital broadcast channels.  As a result, if you receive television using an antenna – on a new digital TV or with a converter box -  you may need to perform a “channel re-scan” in order to receive all of our channels. Some TV’s or converter boxes may use different terms for “channel scan” such as “auto tuning,” “auto scan” or “find new channels.” Check your TV or converter box users’ manual for specific instructions.  A handy reference guide can be found here.

Tip:  We have been told that some TV’s or converter boxes may need to be unplugged from their power source for several seconds, then re-started in order for the “channel rescan” to work properly.  If you don’t receive all expected channels (or if some channels are showing up twice) you may want to give this a try.

Digital TV Channels

Twin Cities Public Television offers four channels of digital programming 24 hours a day.

All four tpt channels are available free, over-the-air in our core broadcast area. However, due to differences in power for our channels, some over-the-air households in outlying areas may not receive tpt LIFE and tpt WX.

Unfortunately, and for reasons beyond our control, not all televisions connected to cable or satellite services will receive all of our channels.  Here is a summary of coverage, based on what we know today:
