We’ve donned our frills, doffed our hats, and practiced our bows and curtsies. TPT is buzzing with anticipation for the premiere of the second season of Victoria on Masterpiece this Sunday. How will Queen Victoria adjust to motherhood? How much power will Prince Albert wield? Will Ms. Scarrett choose love or career? (Our friends at Rewire interviewed her to find out.) We’re bubbling over with questions, but luckily there have been some meaty previews to tide us over until the main event. Here are a few of our favorites.
Oof, does it feel a little warm in here to anyone else? The evolving relationship between Victoria and Albert especially piques our interest in Season 2. Albert seems anxious to take on some of the roles of the sovereign as Victoria is preoccupied with motherhood. We don’t expect she’ll accept that without a fight, however.
Motherhood
Speaking of motherhood, we’re wondering how Victoria the Queen will adapt to becoming Victoria the Mother. We only caught a glimpse of the littlest Victoria in Season 1, and we’re looking forward to seeing her grow and develop a relationship with her mother.
Travel
The new season of Victoria promises to take us far afield to places such as Scotland and France as Victoria and Albert flex their regal muscles. For the first time, Victoria dives into the depths of international diplomacy – and we’re eager to see how she fares. Spoiler alert: There will also be men in kilts.
New Characters
Season 2 brings us a slate of new characters, including the severely funny Duchess of Buccleuch (played by the incomparable Dame Diana Rigg) and the gender role-defying Ada Lovelace.
Before the Queen makes her entrance for Season 2, we’ve been catching up on Victoria’s evolution from girl to monarch by streaming Season 1 episodes on TPT Passport.
