Concept: Insular biogeography: A field within biogeography that examines the factors that affect the species richness of isolated natural communities.
Q: What artistic mediums do you practice?
A: Drawing, cut paper, large scale works on paper and participatory public projects.
Q: What is your first memory of a plant?
A: My parent’s yard and garden in Iowa. There was something growing everywhere – it was magical.
Q: What was your favorite plant growing up?
A: The maple in my backyard. I spent a lot of time up in that tree.
Q: What is the #1 piece of advice you would give to aspiring artists?
A: Participate.
