Yesterday, Congress passed a new farm relief bill, so, tonight, we're featuring a live discussion on the merits and flaws of the new legislation. Scheduled guests include MN Farm Network's Tom Rothman and DFL District 7 Representative Collin Peterson.

Kosovo Rebuilds
Last month, NewsNight's Ken Stone spent several weeks overseas and, tonight, brings us the first in his series of reports. Join us for a moving and uplifting account of humanitarian aid coming to Kosovo from a disparate collection of ordinary citizens, including a group of British police officers and a San Francisco fireman who felt driven to offer help to this battered country.

Teacher of the Year
Yesterday, Mahtomedi music teacher P. Brett Smith was named Minnesota Teacher of the Year and, this evening, he'll join us on the set for a live conversation about the award and what it may mean for his students.

Governor Ventura today traveled north to unveil part III of his 'Big Plan', in which he stated that reforms should help rebuild the public's trust in government. NewsNight's Mary Lahammer & Jim Neumann have teamed up to bring us a report on this latest part of the Governor's vision for the future of Minnesota.

Rebuilding Kosovo
We'll present the second in a series of reports from Ken Stone's recent travels in Kosovo. Tonight, he looks at Suva Reka, a battle-scarred city of over 100,000 residents that has only one pediatrician and an overwhelming number of patients.

There's a joke that calls Minnesota "The Land of 10,000 Treatment Centers". The wellspring of both the joke and the state's reputation as a premier site for addiction recovery is the Hazelden center, now celebrating its' fiftieth year of operation. Tonight, we'll be joined by retired Hazelden pioneer Dr. Dan Anderson to talk about the strides that have been made in the field of addiction treatment.

The 2000 elections became more crowded today as former Republicans Pat Buchanan and Donald Trump abandoned their party to announce themselves as Reform Party candidates for President of the United States. Some think these potential big-name candidates will recharge the recently moribund party, while others fear the addition of Trump and Buchanan will signal the beginning of the end of the Reform (nee Independence) Party. Tonight, we'll have video of the candidates as well as a live discussion with Reform Party Web Master Phil Madsen.

Tonight marks the PBS premiere of the KTCA-produced Jane Goodall: Reason for Hope, a documentary look at the near-legendary primatologist. Tonight, we'll preview the show and have a chat with Emily Goldberg, producer of this remarkable profile.

These days, so many children grow up in cities that what once seemed common knowledge about farms and crops is becoming an alien language to these kids. Mary Lahammer brings us a report on a program to teach urban kids that there's more to food than just getting it at the grocery.
