Sign up for the contest and get an a Story ID

You should have a parent or teacher help with sign-up. We will need an email address from them to let them know you are entering a contest.

When you have a Story ID you can begin drawing and writing your story.

Now you can begin drawing, click on the "Click Here to Begin Drawing" link

You should now be at the Story Creator - Drawing and Typing page.

The mouse cursor is now a pen to draw within the drawing section.

You can start by changing the background color of your picture if you like.
Select a color for your background and then click this button.

The tools for drawing are located in this tool:

Pen: The drawing tool that you start with , choose thickness by changing pen size.
Line: Draws straight lines, choose thickness by changing pen size.
Curve: Draws a half moon curved line, no thickness choice.
Square: Draws a filled in square
Circle: Draws a filled in circle
Triangle: Draws a filled in triangle
Diamond: Draws a filled in diamond
Star: Draws a filled in star.

You can change pen size with this tool:

Click and drag the red circle to make pen draw bigger or small.

To Change Color: Select a color from the panel on the top left. If you hold your mouse over that area you will get a bigger panel of more color choices.

There is no eraser. You can use the UNDO button.
UNDO will delete the last thing you created in the Drawing Screen.
RESET button which will CLEAR everything on the Drawing Screen.

To Write your story CLICK in the writing box on the left. Your cursor should be blinking. Use the Keyboard to type. Remember that the BACKSPACE and DELETE buttons can be used to delete letters or words.

When you are done, you must save the page. At the bottom of the writing section is a box with your ID in it and a box to put a page number in. There is also a reminder note about what page you are creating.

***After you save a page you can not go back to that page and make any corrections.

You can delete a page in your story by creating a new one and giving it the same page number. It will then ask you if you want to replace the old page with the new one.

You are limited to 15 pages for your story.
