Suze Orman and tpt Team Up for New Special
Titled Suze Orman: For the Young, Fabulous & Broke, the new special is aimed squarely at "Generation Debt" and their anxious parents and grandparents. Today's young adults - aged 25 to 35 - face unprecedented financial challenges, including hefty student loans, a tough job market, skyrocketing housing costs and mushrooming credit-card debt. In her trademark down-to-earth, straight-talking style, Orman provides powerful and smart money moves to help this age group deal with these new realities and get on the road to a successful financial future.
For the Young, Fabulous & Broke will be the fifth in a series of collaborations between Orman, PBS and tpt, a partnership that continues to be one of the most successful in public television. Orman's last PBS special, The Laws of Money, The Lessons of Life, earned her the national Emmy Award for Outstanding Service Show Host. The special itself was nominated for Outstanding Service Show. Orman's topics include: how to use your credit cards most effectively; how your credit score plays into nearly every financial move you will ever make, managing your career, how to buy your first home; being a financially responsible parent; what kind of insurance you need and what you don't; and how to choose the investments in your 401(k) or IRA. As usual, her advice will be tailored to the real world, and right to the point: "You want to be told what to tackle first and clear advice on how to get the job done. That's what you are going to get here. Delivered as concisely as possible. I only dive into details that are absolutely critical to your success." For the Young, Fabulous & Broke will be broadcast on tpt 2 on January 22 in a two-hour pledge special. After its Twin Cities debut, the show will be made available to PBS stations around the country for broadcast in March. |
