U of M Historian Hy Berman drops by with an interesting Minnesota political history lesson. Hy talks about the 1892 National Republican convention in Minnesota and why it made sense for the GOP to come here then.
Almanac's political cartoonist David Gillette was in Denver this week too. He gives us his take on attending his first national political convention.
Reporter Mary Lahammer and videographer Butch Bowring are back from Denver with highlights of the convention with special emphasis on Minnesota's presence in the Mile High City.
We have extended clips from Friday's dramatic developments in the John McCain Veep sweepstakes.
Susie Jones is thinking green.

Gov. Pawlenty leads the attack on Barack Obama from Denver. Here's what the governor had to say about his qualifications for vice president.
Gov. Tim Pawlenty led the RNC's press conference pre-buttal to Obama's big speech in the Mile High stadium in Denver. The effort is called "Not Ready 08: A Mile High, An Inch Deep." Pawlenty said the question is "Sen. Obama what have you done and what have you run?"
Of course the question for Pawlenty is if he will be picked tomorrow as Sen. McCain's running mate. He said he is still scheduled to be in Minnesota tomorrow. He didn't give us much other than when asked about his experience Pawlenty did note he has personally led the National Guard, led the House Majority in Minnesota, and led the state as governor. In his remarks Pawlenty noted Obama has been called a "rock star" and a "gifted orator" I had to remind Pawlenty that his opponents have called him the very same thing.
