St. Paul, MN – September 24, 2012 – In our ongoing commitment to explore issues affecting all Minnesotans, Twin Cities Public Television (tpt) will air a new special, Marriage Amendment: I Do, I Don’t on Friday, September 28. This November, voters across the state will have the final say on a new constitutional amendment to define marriage. Marriage Amendment: I Do, I Don’t dives into what some are calling one of the most critical social issues of our time.
Produced by tpt and funded by a grant from the Bush Foundation, this respectful and thoughtful program captures vital conversation from both sides, and explores the issue in-depth with prominent Twin Cities faith leaders, key Minnesota House and Senate lawmakers, families and communications experts.
“Rarely have Minnesotans been asked to vote directly on an issue of such emotion and importance,” said Bill Hanley, Vice President of tpt overseeing Public Engagement. “TPT and the Bush Foundation felt that it was essential to use public television to lower the temperature on the debate and increase the appreciation of all of the perspectives.”
Marriage Amendment: I Do, I Don’t will premiere on tpt 2 on Friday, September 28 at 8pm; for additional airtimes, please visit tpt.org.
